About the Foundation
Future Educator Scholarship Opportunity for Loudoun County Public High School Seniors.
In the past, the Foundation has granted scholarship awards this year in the amount of $500 to five Loudoun County Public High School seniors. This scholarship will not be awarded this year.
Applicants must attend a four-year college or university preparing for a career in education in order to qualify. Preference is given to students with:
- • An interest in and excitement for learning. This does not require or imply that the student must have the highest grade point average; however a transcript must be included with the application.
- • An interest in becoming a teacher and in returning to seek employment with Loudoun County Public Schools.
- • Extra-curricular and community activities that show an interest in and commitment to teaching.
- • Five scholarship recipients will be chosen. Prior to July 1, each recipient will be required to provide evidence that he/she is enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited institution of higher learning.
Candidates should submit applications to the Foundation through their school guidance office. Incomplete scholarship applications will not be considered. The deadline for 2014 applications is Tuesday, April 1, 2015. The Foundation will notify all candidates about its decisions before the end of May.
