We believe in nourishing bodies so minds can grow.

Formerly known as Backpack Coalition, Fueled is a compassionate, student-centered food security program ignited by LEF’s mission to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

We provide for students both through meal bags and in-school pantries, serving more than 35 schools throughout Loudoun County.

So Students Can Focus on Learning

Fueled strives to empower and alleviate the traumatic stressors of food insecurity by swiftly responding to critical needs, creating community connections, and through thoughtful product sourcing.

We are especially passionate about empowering students from historically marginalized populations by providing culturally appropriate foods through dignified means.

With the generous support of our donors, volunteers and partners, Loudoun Education Foundation discreetly provides free meal bags to more than 1,200 students and their families each week.

We believe that every child should have access to nutritious meals, which are essential for their growth, learning, and overall well-being.

This program not only fosters a healthy learning environment but also empowers students to thrive academically and personally.

Volunteer

Join us in making a difference in the lives of these students and families by learning more about Fueled and discovering how you can contribute to this vital initiative. Volunteers are essential to Fueled's operations, and we could not provide this support without the generosity of our community members.

Volunteer opportunities include signing up as an individual or small group (as part of a larger pack event), signing up a larger group (as part of an exclusive pack event), or volunteering to deliver pantry items.

For our limited number of group pack events (18-24 attendees), we require all participant emails at the point of requesting a date. We are not able to hold dates while emails are being gathered, so please browse the available times prior to submitting a request.

Please note: The warehouse is located at 448 S King St, Leesburg, VA.

Host a Food & Hygiene Drive

Our students should be focused on their education, not worrying about having reliable access to enough food that's affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate.

Molly, Dave, Lucy and Maggie helped support our students by hosting a snack drive in their neighborhood. You can do the same, in your office, neighborhood, school, team, or group.

We are always accepting donations! You may host a drive for any length of time. Once it has been completed, contact us to schedule delivery arrangements.

Download, print, and share our flyers to make it even easier!

Monetary donations are an easy way to impact many, causing a ripple effect; supporting students supports teachers, which in turn supports families, schools, and the community at large.

Individually, it has a positive impact on nutrition, mental health, learning environments, morale, success, and overall well-being. With your generosity, we can purchase the much-needed food to provide to more than 35 public schools in Loudoun County.

  • $10 – Provides one weekend meal bag per student

For more than 30 years, the Loudoun Education Foundation has demonstrated how community support can make meaningful educational impacts in the classroom and beyond. As an independent nonprofit, we engage our community to invest in critical and innovative programs that foster academic success and the well-being of students and educators.
